A thread that runs throughout Montessori classrooms is Peace Education. Problem-solving, emotional well-being, and empathy are foundational to the community of each group of students and staff. How does a child react when they do not get their way? What if a peer takes something from them? Peace Education engages children and teachers in meaningful conversations to help them resolve matters independently, communicate their concerns to one another, and be aware of appropriate actions when they have big feelings. These daily practices craft a peaceful environment and a child who feels heard.
